Hi Max:
My name is Nell (and my dad, Ian, is typing for me).
I'm 4 and I liked Koala Trouble. I have an idea for a story - Max and his mother go tree climbing and they see a peacock on the very top branch.

Dear Alex
I had the pleasure of finding your site tonight. My son (6yrs old) is on his first Joey Scout Camp tonight so I can't wait until he comes home tomorrow to see him and tell him about your stories.
He loves drawing as well. What a wonderful idea. We have a support a Koala Programme here in Queensland and it costs $2,000 to help support a koala. We are lucky to have a koala sanctuary near us.
Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading more stories with my son.
Hope Christmas is special for you and your family.
Best wishes,
Amanda Doran

Dear Balson Family
I have just looked through some of the people's responses to your stories. How wonderful that it is reaching people from all over the world (I am new to the Net and am still bowled over by it! - I mean mobile phones and faxes intrigue me!)
Anyway, with all this exposure I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of the many other Australian animals that are endangered. We have so many unique animals, and other parts of the world are starved of wildlife. We are so fortunate to be able to enjoy the beauty of nature in our own backyard.
There could also be stories of 'How it was on the first day of school', 'How do we feel when someone or something we love dies'. The list is endless. Children are beautifully honest and have a way of coping with many things that adult don't give them credit for dealing with.
What about some songs?
Thank you for the opportunity of writing to you.
Have a safe Christmas. Best wishes,
Amanda Doran :0 :) :+ )

Dear Alex
I think you have real potential as a writer.
I used to be a firs t(6 year olds) grade teacher, before I had my daughter, and I always looked for kids with your type of creativity. I found your web site because a friend of mine works for Yahoo, and she liked your web site, so my husband and I thought we'd take a look.
Your stories have all the components of good stories - good characters, setting, a problem and a solution.
Keep up the good work. If you want to write back, you'll have to use my husband's email address.
Fondly,
Janice
ps I decorated our Christmas tree tonight. Do you have a Christmas tree?
pps My husband suggested a story possibility for Max: "Max goes to the moon."

Alex,
We like your stories and pictures. We are going to have to write our own stories using hyperstudio on our Macintoshes. You gave us some great ideas.
Tyler wants to know how many times you've been to the huge theatre in Sydney? He has seen pictures of it in a book of famous places.
Amber wants to know if you have been to the dam you wrote about?
Kellen asked if you get any money for writing your stories?
Sincerely,

Dear Alex,
We have been reading your stories. We like them very much! We are going to write our own stories after Christmas.
We are wondering what a goanna is? Our class has guessed a cat, a lizart, a girl, a chicken, a wild dog, and a grown up kangaroo.
Sincerely,

We liked your pictures. After Christmas we will write our own stories also. We may write about Max. Was it fun when you won the award?
We are in Mrs. Robert's 2nd grade class at Seminole Primary School in Seminole, Texas.
We hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Hi Alex
I am really enjoying Max's adventures, and I'm looking forward to the next story.
I live on a small farm just outside Gunnedah in North West NSW, and we almost always have Koalas in our trees near the house ( we call them "Teds").
Our Rotary Club (The Rotary Club of Gunnedah West) have planted lots of Koala trees in our area for "corridors" so the Koalas gan get from place to place safely.
Did you know that Gunnedah has the largest and healthiest Koala population in inland NSW?
We love our "Teds" and I love Max. (My daughter, Becky, has a dog called Max).
I won't say how old I am, but I was born in 1943!
Keep up the good work Alex.
Cheers
Simon
